  • 3 avocados, peeled and sliced
  • lemon juice

  2. Spread 2/3 cup of cheese over each tortilla.
  3. Sprinkle with some diced olives and chilies.
  4. Top each with another tortilla.
  5. Brush tortilla lightly with water.
  6. Cover baking sheets with foil.
  7. Bake at 300° for 15 minutes or until hot and cheese is completely melted.
  8. Remove from oven and cut each tortilla into 6 wedges.
  9. Top each wedge with an avocado slice and brush with lemon juice.
  10. Add hot sauce, if desired.

Tips & Substitutions

To enhance flavor, consider adding spices like cumin or chili powder to the cheese mixture. If you prefer a spicier kick, try substituting pepper jack cheese for Monterey Jack. For a quicker version, use pre-shredded cheese. When layering the ingredients, be mindful not to overfill, as this can make the wedges difficult to cut after baking.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the quesadilla wedges hot, garnished with slices of avocado and a squeeze of lemon juice. They pair beautifully with Taco Sauce for added flavor. For a complete meal, consider serving alongside a fresh salad or some Mexican Corn Bread. These wedges also make a great appetizer for gatherings.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover quesadilla wedges in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes, or until heated through. Alternatively, you can microwave them for 1-2 minutes, but this may result in a softer texture.
