Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 3 beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 Tbsp. molasses
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 c. sliced onion
  • 3/4 c. boiling water
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 c. cold water

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a pan.
  2. Add boiling water, bouillon cubes, soy sauce, and molasses to the meat.
  3. Whisk cornstarch with cold water, then pour into the pan, stirring until the sauce thickens.
  4. Add sliced celery and onion, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve the stew hot over rice or Chinese noodles.
