Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 (17 oz) can fruit cocktail (undrained)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients except chocolate and nuts.
  2. Blend at low speed until moistened; beat for 2 minutes at medium speed, scraping the bowl occasionally.
  3. Add chocolate pieces and chopped nuts; mix well.
  4. Pour batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes or until the cake springs back when lightly touched in the center.
