Tips & Substitutions

For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in soy sauce and ginger for 30 minutes before cooking. You can substitute chicken with tofu or shrimp for a different protein. Feel free to use other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas based on your preference or seasonal availability. To keep the dish vibrant, do not overcook the vegetables; they should remain crisp.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this stir-fry over hot, cooked rice for a complete meal. It pairs beautifully with Chinese Noodles With Broccoli (Low-Fat) for a delightful combination. Garnish with additional green onions or sesame seeds for extra flavor and presentation. This dish can also be complemented with a side of steamed dumplings or a fresh salad.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply microwave for 1-2 minutes, or stir-fry in a pan over medium heat until heated through. Adding a splash of water can help maintain moisture during reheating.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use frozen vegetables for this stir-fry?

Yes, frozen vegetables can be used for convenience. Just be sure to thaw and drain them before adding to the skillet to avoid excess moisture. Cooking times may vary slightly, so keep an eye on the texture.

What is a good substitute for soy sauce?

If you need a soy sauce substitute, consider using tamari for a gluten-free option or coconut aminos for a lower sodium alternative. Both will provide a similar umami flavor to your stir-fry.

Can I make this dish vegetarian?

Absolutely! Simply replace the chicken with tofu or tempeh and use vegetable broth instead of soy sauce for flavor. This will make a delicious vegetarian option while still offering great taste and texture.
