Ingredients

  • 1 lb. bulk pork sausage
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 cup finely chopped green pepper
  • 1 can (1 lb.) tomatoes
  • 1 cup dairy sour cream
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 8 oz. uncooked narrow noodles

Instructions

  1. Brown sausage, onion, and green pepper in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat until the meat is browned and the onion is tender.
  2. Pour off any excess fat.
  3. Lower the temperature to simmer.
  4. Combine tomatoes, sour cream, water, sugar, salt, and chili powder; stir into the meat mixture.
  5. Gently stir in the uncooked noodles.
  6. Cover the pan and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes or until the noodles are tender, stirring occasionally.
