Chewy, chocolatey oatmeal cookies with a hint of peanut butter and vanilla, perfect for a quick snack or satisfying dessert for all ages.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1 stick oleo (butter)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 3 cups oatmeal
  • nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, milk, cocoa, and oleo in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Add vanilla and peanut butter, stirring until peanut butter is dissolved.
  5. Add oatmeal and nuts, mixing well.
  6. Drop spoonfuls onto wax paper to cool and set.
