Ingredients

  • 1 lb. rabbit
  • 1/2 lb. carrots, sliced
  • 1 lb. potatoes, quartered
  • 1 pkg. onion soup mix
  • 4 lb. boneless venison
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • pepper
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
  • 2 chopped onions
  • 2 chopped peppers
  • 1 tsp. rosemary

Instructions

  1. Cut the rabbit meat into chunks.
  2. Mix the flour with salt and pepper, then roll the meat in the mixture.
  3. Brown the coated meat in shortening over medium heat.
  4. Add pressed garlic, canned tomatoes, chopped onions, chopped peppers, and rosemary to the pot.
  5. Add water if necessary to bring the liquid halfway up the meat.
  6. Cover the pot and simmer for 2 hours or until the meat is tender, stirring occasionally.
