Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 lb. ready to cook rabbit, cut up
  • flour
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Coat rabbit pieces with flour.
  3. In an ovenproof 10-inch skillet over medium heat, in hot oil and butter, cook rabbit, a few pieces at a time, until browned on all sides.
  4. Remove browned rabbit pieces to a platter.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté chopped onions and minced garlic until tender.
  6. Return rabbit to the skillet with cooked onions and garlic.
  7. Add salt and pepper.
  8. Pour in milk and sour cream, stirring to combine.
  9. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 1 hour or until rabbit is tender.
  10. Serve hot with your choice of side dishes.
