Ingredients

  • 3/4 to 1 cup molasses
  • 2 2/3 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups bran
  • 3 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2/3 to 1 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Mix the wet ingredients together: molasses, milk, and vinegar.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients together: bran, whole wheat flour, and baking soda.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  4. Fold in the raisins.
  5. Pour batter into oiled loaf pans.
  6. Bake immediately at 350°F for 50 to 60 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
