Raisin Custard Bread Pudding

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Grease a 1-quart casserole dish.
- Put bread and raisins in large mixing bowl.
- Add scalded milk; soak 5 minutes.
- Add butter, sugar, salt, eggs and vanilla; mix well. Pour into prepared casserole.
- Sprinkle with nutmeg.
- Put casserole dish in an 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.
- Pour 2 cups hot water in pan.
- Bake for 60 to 65 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
- Serve warm.
- Makes 8 servings.
