- Melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
- Stir in sugar, slightly beaten egg, molasses, and vanilla into the cooled butter.

- Add raisins and walnuts to the sifted dry ingredients.
- Combine all ingredients until well blended.
- Pour the batter into a 10 1/2 x 15 1/2-inch cookie sheet.
- Bake for about 12 minutes.
