Ingredients

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups Bisquick
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Mix in a saucepan 1 cup of brown sugar, water, and butter.
  3. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Pour the mixture into a 9-inch square pan.
  5. In a bowl, combine 1 cup of brown sugar, milk, Bisquick, raisins, nuts, and vanilla.
  6. Spoon the batter on top of the mixture in the pan. It will sink in and spread as it bakes.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Serve warm, plain or with whipped cream.
