Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, marinate the chicken in yogurt and spices for a few hours prior to cooking, similar to Dahi Murgh (An Indian Dish)(Chicken And Yogurt Curry). If you want a spicier dish, consider adding a few chopped green chilies or using smoked paprika instead of regular paprika. You can also substitute olive oil with coconut oil for a different taste.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this dish hot with fluffy rice or naan for a complete meal. It pairs beautifully with a side of Curried Lentil Soup With Tomato And Spinach for a hearty spread. Garnish with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lemon juice to enhance the flavors, and consider serving a cucumber salad on the side for a refreshing contrast.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place the chicken and sauce in a pan over low heat until warmed through, adding a splash of water if it appears dry. Alternatively, you can microwave it in a covered dish for 2-3 minutes, stirring halfway through.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use boneless chicken instead of pieces with bones?

Yes, boneless chicken can be used for quicker cooking. Adjust the cooking time accordingly, reducing it by about 10-15 minutes to avoid overcooking the chicken.

What can I substitute for tomatoes if I don't have any?

If you're out of fresh tomatoes, you can use canned tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes. Alternatively, a mix of tomato paste and water can work in a pinch, adjusting the quantity to achieve your desired consistency.

Is this recipe suitable for meal prep?

Absolutely! This chicken dish is great for meal prep as the flavors deepen when stored. Just ensure you cool it completely before refrigerating, and portion it into meal containers for easy access throughout the week.
