Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 sticks oleo
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix sugar, flour, soda, and cinnamon and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, mix oleo, water, and cocoa and bring to a boil.
  3. Pour the boiling mixture over the sugar and flour mixture and stir well.
  4. Beat 2 eggs until blended.
  5. Add buttermilk and vanilla to the eggs and mix.
  6. Stir the egg mixture into the cake batter until smooth.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
