Refrigerator cookies are easy no-bake treats with warm spices and nuts, perfect for a quick homemade snack or dessert for family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Cream together the sugars, butter, and eggs.
  2. Add vanilla to the mixture.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the chopped nuts.
  6. Form the dough into rolls and refrigerate until firm.
  7. Slice the chilled rolls into cookies.
  8. Bake in a moderate oven at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes or until done.
