Refrigerator Kuchen is a soft, sweet yeast dough topped with your favorite fillings, perfect for a quick, no-fuss dessert or breakfast that keeps well refrigerated for days.

- Scald milk. Stir in sugar, salt, and margarine. Cool to lukewarm.
- Sprinkle yeast over warm water. Stir until dissolved.
- Stir in lukewarm milk mixture, egg, and 2 cups of flour with a mixer until smooth.
- Stir in 2 additional cups of flour with a spoon to make a stiff batter (but not as stiff as bread dough).
- Seal dough in an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Dough keeps for up to 3 days.
- Shape dough and place in 4 greased pie pans.
- Cover with topping and let rise until doubled in size.
