Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. frozen bread dough, thawed overnight
  • 1/2 lb. provolone cheese
  • 1/4 lb. hot ham
  • 1/2 lb. Genoa salami
  • 1 to 2 sliced, briefly sautéed green peppers
  • Egg yolk wash

Instructions

  1. Roll out the thawed dough to a 1/4-inch thickness on a floured board.
  2. Spread salami, provolone, hot ham, and sautéed green peppers onto the dough, leaving a 1/4-inch border free of filling.
  3. Fold the dough over the filling, sealing the edges by pressing them together.
  4. Brush the rolled calzones with an egg yolk wash to add shine.
  5. Bake according to the dough package instructions, typically 15–20 minutes, until golden brown.
