Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 c. cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 2 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. crushed rosemary
  • 3/4 c. hot water

Instructions

  1. Mix cottage cheese, eggs, sugar, baking soda, oil, salt, crushed rosemary, and hot water in a large bowl.
  2. Add yeast mixture to the bowl.
  3. Gradually incorporate flour until the dough is neither too dry nor too sticky.
  4. Place the dough in a well-greased bowl and cover in a warm, draft-free place to rise for 40 minutes.
  5. Punch down the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  6. On a floured surface, shape the dough into several long loaves, braids, or dinner rolls.
  7. Let the shaped dough rise again in a warm place for 1 hour.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Bake the bread for 15 minutes until golden brown.
