Ingredients

  • 3/4 tsp. active dry yeast
  • 1 c. warm water (110 to 115 degrees)
  • 2 1/2 c. unbleached flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • safflower margarine
  • 2 tsp. olive oil
  • 3 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in a cup of warm water.
  2. In a bowl, combine unbleached flour and salt.
  3. Add the dissolved yeast to the flour mixture.
  4. Knead by hand until smooth, adding up to 1/2 cup flour if the dough is sticky.
  5. Place the dough in a bowl greased with safflower margarine.
  6. Turn the dough once to coat with margarine.
  7. Cover the bowl and let rise in a warm place for 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in size.
