Salmon In Crust features flaky puff pastry wrapped around a savory salmon filling, accented with dill, garlic, and sesame seeds, perfect for elegant dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puffed pastry dough
  • 1 (15 1/2 oz) can salmon, drained, boned, and flaked
  • 3/4 cup crushed saltine crackers
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • dill to taste
  • garlic powder to taste

Instructions

  1. Roll the puffed pastry dough into a 9 x 12-inch rectangle and place it on a greased cookie sheet.
  2. Mix together the drained, flaked salmon, crushed saltine crackers, 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons sour cream, grated onion, melted butter, salt, pepper, dill, garlic powder, and parsley.
  3. Place the salmon mixture down the center of the dough rectangle.
  4. Fold the sides of the dough toward the center and pinch them together to form a seam.
  5. Mix the egg yolk with 1 teaspoon water and brush it over the top of the pastry.
  6. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the pastry.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
