Sandy'S Meat Loaf
A hearty meat loaf filled with melted Velveeta cheese, combining savory flavors with a cheesy surprise inside, perfect for family dinners and comfort food lovers.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 to 2 lb. ground round beef ⓘ
- 1 cup cracker crumbs or quick oatmeal ⓘ
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped (optional) ⓘ
- 1 medium onion, chopped (optional) ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1 egg ⓘ
- 3/4 cup catsup
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons Heinz 57 sauce ⓘ
- 1 1/2 to 2 cups Velveeta cheese, diced ⓘ
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients except for the cheese in a large mixing bowl.
- Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape two-thirds of the mixture into a pond-shaped form on a covered cookie sheet.
- Place the diced Velveeta cheese in the center of the meat mixture.
- Cover the cheese with the remaining meat mixture to enclose it.
- Spread catsup over the top of the assembled meat loaf.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 1 hour until cooked through.
