A rich, tangy sauce with Worcestershire, vinegar, and lemon, perfect for basting deer and enhancing its savory flavors during slow cooking or crock-pot preparations.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 bottles Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups vinegar
  • 1/2 bottle catsup
  • 1/4 bottle garlic salt
  • 1/2 bottle lemon juice
  • 1 box poultry seasoning
  • Tabasco sauce to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 pound butter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix together all of the ingredients and bring to a quick boil.
  2. Baste deer about every 1/2 hour during cooking.
  3. Cook slowly at 225°F until meat falls off the bone.
  4. If using a crock-pot, wrap the meat in foil and follow the crock-pot instructions.
