- Using a slotted spoon, add the raisins to the sausage mixture, reserving the raisin water.
- Measure 1 cup of the raisin juice; if less, add water to reach one cup.
- Add baking soda to the juice, then pour the mixture into the sausage blend, watching for foaming.
- Stir in the flour until well combined.
- Grease and flour a tube pan, then pour the batter in.
- Bake at 400°F for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
