- In a large saucepan, melt 1 cup of butter.
- Add sliced green peppers, sliced onions, and sliced mushrooms to the saucepan.
- Cook vegetables until they start to soften.
- Add sausage to the vegetables and turn down heat.
- Cover and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In another saucepan, melt the remaining 1 cup of butter.
- Slice the sandwich buns in half.
- Dip each bun in the melted butter for about 1 minute to toast.
- Place toasted buns on plates.
- Spoon sausage and vegetables onto the bottom half of each bun.
- Cover with the top half of the bun and serve.
