Ingredients

  • 2 lb. sausage
  • 2 large green peppers
  • 2 large onions
  • 10 mushrooms
  • 6 sandwich buns
  • 2 c. butter

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt 1 cup of butter.
  2. Add sliced green peppers, sliced onions, and sliced mushrooms to the saucepan.
  3. Cook vegetables until they start to soften.
  4. Add sausage to the vegetables and turn down heat.
  5. Cover and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. In another saucepan, melt the remaining 1 cup of butter.
  7. Slice the sandwich buns in half.
  8. Dip each bun in the melted butter for about 1 minute to toast.
  9. Place toasted buns on plates.
  10. Spoon sausage and vegetables onto the bottom half of each bun.
  11. Cover with the top half of the bun and serve.
