- 1/4 tsp. marjoram ⓘ
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1/4 tsp. pepper ⓘ
- 1/8 tsp. sage ⓘ
Instructions
- In a Dutch oven, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add the cut-up fryer chicken and cook until browned on all sides.
- Remove the chicken and set aside.
- In the drippings, add all vegetables except cabbage. Cook, stirring for about 10 minutes until lightly browned.
- Remove vegetables and set aside. Return the chicken to the pot, add 2 cups water, bouillon cubes, salt, marjoram, thyme, pepper, and sage.
- Cover and cook for about 20 minutes.
- Add the cooked vegetables back into the pot.
- Place the cabbage wedges over all and cover. Cook for about 20 to 25 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
- Remove the chicken and vegetables; set aside.
- In a small bowl, combine cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water to make a slurry.
- Stir the cornstarch mixture into the pan juices and cook until slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken and vegetables to the pan, heat through, and serve over noodles.
