Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 3 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. cheese (American and Cheddar mixed)
  • 6 medium potatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onion

Instructions

  1. Make a white sauce using butter, flour, salt, pepper, and milk.
  2. Add cheese to the sauce and stir until melted.
  3. Place half of the sliced potatoes in a greased 2-quart casserole dish.
  4. Top with half of the chopped onion and half of the cheese sauce.
  5. Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, onion, and sauce.
  6. Cover the casserole and bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
  7. Uncover and bake for an additional 30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
