Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups oats
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup margarine

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients; cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Stir in oats and chopped walnuts.
  3. Add milk; mix until just moistened.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a circle about 1/2 inch thick.
  5. Cut into 10 wedges and place on a greased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12 to 15 minutes until golden.
  7. Cream margarine and honey until light and fluffy.
  8. Serve warm scones with the creamed margarine and honey.
