Instructions
- Saute onions in 1 1/2 teaspoons of oil until transparent. Remove onions and set aside.
- Place meat or poultry in the reserved oil.
- Saute until lightly brown, then add water to cover.
- Bring to a boil and skim off foam.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of pepper, and bay leaf.
- Simmer for 1 hour.
- Add the sautéed onions to the meat mixture.
- Reserve the stock for later use.
