Seafood phyllo triangles offer a crispy, flaky exterior filled with a flavorful mixture of shrimp or crab, cream cheese, and aromatic seasonings—perfect as an appetizer or party finger food.

Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 oz. cooked shrimp or crab meat
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 Tbsp. minced scallions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • dash of Tabasco
  • dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 sheets phyllo dough, thawed

Instructions

  1. Combine cooked shrimp or crab meat, softened cream cheese, minced scallions, minced garlic, Tabasco, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl.
  2. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary; the mixture should be strongly flavored.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Place a sheet of phyllo dough on your work surface and brush it with melted butter.
  5. Layer another sheet of phyllo dough on top and brush with butter; repeat until you have layered all 8 sheets.
  6. Cut the layered dough into 6 strips.
  7. Place 1 to 2 heaping teaspoons of the seafood mixture onto each strip.
  8. Fold each strip into a triangle shape, like a flag.
  9. Lightly brush the tops of the triangles with melted butter.
  10. Repeat the process until all dough and filling are used.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden and crisp.
