Ingredients

  • 6 pork chops (1-inch thick)
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 2 cooking apples peeled and chopped
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Brown the pork chops in vegetable oil.
  2. Drain the pan drippings after browning.
  3. Place chopped apples and onion on top of the chops.
  4. Combine dry sherry, brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic powder.
  5. Pour the mixture over the chops and fruit.
  6. Cover the pan, reduce heat, and simmer for 1 hour or until the chops are tender.
  7. Serve the pork chops on a plate.
