Tips & Substitutions

For a sweeter cake, consider using sweeter apple varieties like Fuji or Honeycrisp. You can substitute some of the sugar with maple syrup for a different flavor. If you prefer a more textured cake, add chopped nuts or oats to the mixture. Be sure to beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form for the best rise.

Serving Suggestions

This cake is delightful served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. It pairs beautifully with a warm cup of tea or coffee. For a festive touch, consider serving it alongside Granny'S Fruit Salad for a refreshing contrast.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, warm individual slices in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds or in a 350°F oven for about 10-15 minutes, until heated through. This cake can also be enjoyed cold.
