Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 4 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. whipping cream
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 c. crushed pineapple, drained
  • 2 c. fruit cocktail, drained
  • 2 c. miniature marshmallows
  • 1 c. cherries, drained

Instructions

  1. Cook eggs, vinegar, and sugar in a double boiler on low heat, stirring constantly.
  2. When thick, remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool.
  4. Fold in the whipped cream.
  5. In another bowl, combine crushed pineapple, fruit cocktail, marshmallows, cherries, and nuts.
  6. Mix the fruit mixture with the cream mixture.
  7. Refrigerate until chilled.
  8. The salad freezes well if desired.
