Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 (14 oz.) can condensed milk
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup nuts

Instructions

  1. Line a 9 x 9-inch or 8 3/4-inch baking pan with foil, extending foil over the edges of the pan; butter the foil.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the brown sugar, condensed milk, and light corn syrup to the melted butter.
  4. Cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until it reaches the soft ball stage (about 235-240°F or 112-115°C).
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and nuts.
  6. Pour the caramel mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
