Ingredients

  • 2 c water
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 1 carrot
  • 1/2 c celery
  • 1 slice onion
  • 1/2 can corn
  • 3 tsp chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 lb shrimp
  • 1/2 lb Velveeta cheese
  • 3 c milk
  • 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Cube the potatoes and carrots.
  2. Add the diced potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, corn, water, salt, and chicken bouillon to a simmering pot.
  3. Simmer for 20 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  4. Add the Velveeta cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  5. Pour in the milk, add the cooked shrimp, and stir in Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Simmer gently, stirring frequently, without bringing to a boil.
  7. Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry and add to the soup to thicken.
  8. Cook until the chowder has thickened, then serve hot with salad and toasted French bread.
