Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/3 cups cake flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 12-cup Bundt pan or decorative cake mold.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter or margarine and sugar until creamy.
  4. Add vanilla and eggs; beat until blended.
  5. Gradually blend in cake flour and baking powder.
  6. Stir in the mixture alternately with milk until combined.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes.
  10. Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.
  11. Dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar before serving.
