Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 3 slices loaf bread, crumbled
  • green pepper (optional)
  • dash of salt
  • dash of pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, tomato sauce, egg, crumbled bread slices, green pepper (if using), salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a 12 x 8-inch baking dish.
  4. Optional: Top with ketchup and green pepper for garnish.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 45 minutes.
  6. Do not cover the baking dish during baking.
