Ingredients

  • 1 lb. pork sausage
  • 2 cans kidney beans
  • 1 (14 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 qt. water
  • 1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/8 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 cup diced potatoes

Instructions

  1. Brown and drain the sausage.
  2. Combine all ingredients except potatoes in a large pot and simmer for 1 hour.
  3. Add diced potatoes and cook until potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.
  4. Remove bay leaves and mash the soup slightly for added texture.
