Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 can drained sliced pineapple
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 (18 1/2 to 19 oz) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 jar maraschino cherries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the skillet to 250°F.
  2. Melt the butter in the skillet.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar until all are melted and well mixed.
  4. Pour the cake mix over the sugar mixture and spread evenly.
  5. Bake uncovered for 30 to 40 minutes.
  6. Loosen the sides of the cake with a spatula.
  7. Place a wire rack over the skillet and invert the cake onto the rack.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
