Ingredients

  • 1 medium cabbage
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheese
  • 3 tablespoons chili sauce

Instructions

  1. Cut the cabbage into 8 wedges.
  2. Boil the cabbage wedges in salted water until tender, then drain well and place in a baking dish.
  3. Cook chopped bell peppers and onions in a pan until tender.
  4. Add salt, pepper, and flour to the cooked vegetables, then gradually stir in milk and cook until thickened.
  5. Pour the sauce over the cabbage wedges.
  6. Bake uncovered at 375°F for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and spread the cheese, mayonnaise, and chili sauce mixture over the cabbage.
  8. Bake for an additional 5 minutes until bubbly.
