Ingredients

  • 1 pkg dates cut up
  • 2 tsp soda
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 c. flour
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Cream sugar and butter together.
  2. Add eggs, vanilla, and a pinch of salt to the mixture.
  3. Gradually incorporate flour into the mixture.
  4. Fold in the cooled, cut-up dates and nuts if desired.
  5. Drop the batter by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 12 to 15 minutes.
