Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 medium green pepper, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1 (14 oz.) can peeled tomatoes, cut up (undrained)
  • 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp. seasoned pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder with parsley
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed thyme
  • 1 lb. medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

Instructions

  1. In a large heavy skillet, melt margarine and sauté the chopped green pepper, onion, and celery.
  2. Add the peeled and chopped tomatoes along with seasoned salt, seasoned pepper, garlic powder with parsley, and crushed thyme; blend well.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the peeled and deveined shrimp and cook for 10 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink.
  5. Serve the Sonora Shrimp over hot, fluffy rice.
