Sourdough Dip

Creamy and savory, this sourdough dip combines cream cheese, sour cream, chopped beef or ham, green onion, and green pepper for a flavorful appetizer. Served inside a hollowed sourdough loaf, it’s perfect for gatherings and hearty enough to please a crowd seeking a delicious, shareable snack.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 4 oz. chipped beef or ham
  • 1/4 c. green onion
  • dash Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
  • 8-inch round sourdough loaf bread
  • extra bread for dipping

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients except the bread.
  2. Slice off the top quarter of the bread and hollow out carefully.
  3. Ensure there are no weak points in the bread shell.
  4. Fill the bread shell with the mixture.
  5. Replace the bread top.
  6. Wrap the filled bread in foil and bake at 300°F for 1.5 hours or at 350°F for 1 hour.
  7. Remove the bread from the oven, and use the bread from the top and inside as dippers.
  8. Serve with extra bread for dipping.
