Ingredients

  • 1 lb. spaghetti twists
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon shortening (optional)
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray or shortening.
  2. Cook spaghetti twists according to package directions until al dente, then drain.
  3. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes to blend flavors.
  5. Combine the cooked spaghetti with the beef mixture and transfer to the prepared casserole dish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with your favorite toppings if desired.
