Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sweet milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 package vanilla wafers

Instructions

  1. Mix about half of the evaporated milk with sugar and flour in a double boiler.
  2. Add egg yolks to the mixture and stir well.
  3. Pour in the remaining evaporated milk and continue stirring.
  4. Add sweet milk and vanilla, then stir until well combined.
  5. Cook over double boiler, stirring constantly until thickened.
  6. Layer vanilla wafers and sliced bananas in serving dishes if desired, then pour the pudding over.
  7. Chill before serving if desired.
