Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 c. hot water
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together well.
  2. Form the dough into a 12-inch long, 3-inch wide log on a baking sheet.
  3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 to 30 minutes until golden.
  4. Cool completely, then cut diagonally into slices.
  5. Toast both sides under a boiler if a crisp texture is desired.
  6. Optional: Frost one end with melted chocolate.
