Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. frozen chopped spinach
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1/2 c. vegetable liquor from spinach
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 3/4 tsp. celery salt
  • 3/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 6 oz. jalapeno cheese roll
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Cook spinach and drain, reserving the spinach liquor.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  3. Add flour to the melted butter, stirring until smooth but not browned.
  4. Gradually add evaporated milk and spinach liquor, stirring constantly.
  5. Cook until the mixture is smooth and thickened.
  6. Add black pepper, celery salt, garlic salt, and chopped onion; stir well.
  7. Add jalapeno cheese and Worcestershire sauce; stir until all ingredients are melted and combined.
  8. Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked spinach.
  9. Serve immediately or freeze for later use, reheating slowly before serving.
