Tips & Substitutions

For a smoother texture, you can finely chop the vegetables instead of coarsely grinding them. If you're out of pimentos, diced roasted red peppers make a great substitute. Adjust the sugar to taste if you prefer a less sweet relish. Also, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick. This relish is versatile and can be used in various American recipes.

Serving Suggestions

Squash relish is a delightful condiment for grilled meats or as a topping for sandwiches. It pairs beautifully with Vegetarian Stew or can be served alongside cheese platters. For an added twist, try using it as a dip for fresh veggies or crackers, making it a versatile addition to your appetizer spread.

Storage & Reheating

Store the sealed jars of squash relish in a cool, dark place. Once opened, keep the relish refrigerated and consume within 2-3 weeks for the best flavor. If you want to enjoy it warm, gently reheat in a saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
