Ingredients

  • 2 lb. round steak
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. mustard
  • 1 c. water

Instructions

  1. Cut the round steak into serving pieces and brown them on both sides in butter.
  2. Remove the browned steak to a casserole dish.
  3. In the same pan, cook the sliced onion until browned.
  4. Stir in the flour, mustard, ketchup, vinegar, and sugar.
  5. Slowly add water to the mixture and stir well.
  6. Pour the gravy over the meat in the casserole.
  7. Cover and bake at 300°F for 2 hours, ensuring the meat is completely covered with gravy.
