Ingredients

  • 2 lb. thinly sliced beef
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 can bean sprouts, drained
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 4 Tbsp. peanut oil
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 cup water (cold)
  • soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat peanut oil in a wok or large skillet; add garlic and sauté briefly.
  2. Add sliced beef and cook until nearly well-done; remove from oil and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté sliced onions, green peppers, and mushrooms until tender.
  4. In a separate cup, mix cornstarch with cold water until smooth; pour mixture over vegetables and stir until thickened.
  5. Return beef and add drained bean sprouts to the pan; stir to combine.
  6. Simmer for a few minutes to heat through and blend flavors.
  7. Serve hot over steamed rice.
