Steak Sub

A flavorful steak sub with tender strips of steak, melted mozzarella, and sautéed peppers and onions, perfect for a hearty lunch or casual dinner for meat lovers.

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion
  • 1 large green pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • pinch of oregano
  • 4 minute steaks
  • 2 slices mozzarella cheese
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Slice the onion and green pepper thinly.
  2. In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil.
  3. Add the sliced onion and green pepper to the pan.
  4. Sprinkle with a pinch of oregano, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cover and simmer until vegetables are tender.
  6. Cut the frozen steaks into thin strips.
  7. Push the sautéed vegetables to one side of the pan.
  8. Add half of the steak strips to the empty side of the pan.
  9. Cook until the steak is almost cooked through.
  10. Cut one slice of mozzarella cheese in half and place on top of the steak to melt slightly.
  11. Open the sub roll and spread with mayonnaise or butter.
  12. Place the steak and melted cheese on the roll, then add some of the sautéed onion and green pepper.
  13. Close the roll and cut in half.
  14. Repeat the process to make the second sub.
